Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Dura Ace 10 chain differences

Whats the difference between the CN-7800 chain and the CN-7801 chain? Also whats the difference between the Ultegra 10 chain and the DA chains (since is only a few dollars difference)? I need a new chain in the next few weeks and need to decide on a chain.

you might want to give one of the Wippermann (Connex) 10-speed chains a try, they're nearly the same price as the CN-7800 and have a "master link" similar to the SRAM powerlink.

Don't you love when people answer your question by bringing in a totally different item? ATFQ!

7801 is reputed to have better side plate retention to eliminate chain breakage.

To answer your other question, the CN-7801 is fully zinc-plated on the both the pin and rollers whereas the CN-6600 only has zinc-plating on the pins. This means that the CN-6600 will probably not shift quite as smoothly as the CN-7801 and is a little more succeptable to rust. However keeping the chain properly cleaned and lubed should prevent the rust regardless of the plating or rather lack thereof.
