Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Don't think so. I ride a Six13 and it is great riding. Esp for big power riders.

There are probably a few companies doing hybrid construction full-suspension mountain bikes. It's much easier on a full-suspension bike because the front and rear triangles are completely separate with no bonding issues.

most of those bikes use "off the shelf" bonded rear triangles and tubesets from Columbus. I haven't checked recently, but I don't think Columbus is making them anymore.

I think most companies realized it's not a great option.

In many cases, they were bonded together, and the bond would eventually break down.

Cannondale solved that by using cut outs in the aluminum and expanding the carbon into place. They did it on the Six-13 and System-6. It worked very well, and created a very solid platform, but it also eventually wore out. Also, there was an issue with galvanic corrosion between the two materials.

This combo of crabon and steel seems like it would be way better, but I don't think English has made one of this sort in a year or so...
