Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Canyon Endurace CF SL 7.0

This is available on the US Canyon website for 2 grand. I wish they had an Ultegra version but still seems like a good buy. Anybody have experience with this bike, or the Endurace CF SL frame in general? How do you like it?

@topslop1 recently got one and it'll likely be on my radar in the spring.

They should be getting their Ultegra bikes on the site before long as they are waiting for shipments from Shimano.

I rode an Endurace with 105 5800 in Spain this past June and was very pleased with how the bike handled. It was very comfortable yet responsive, not twitchy.

Canyon is great and all, but not the only online value brand around.

https://www.diamondback.com/road-bik...tury-4-carbon#
$425 less expensive and it comes with hydraulic brakes. Oh, and a better gear setup for most riders. It does weigh a whopping 3oz more though.

https://www.diamondback.com/road-bik...ntury-5-carbon
Or this is the same price as that Canyon bike and would wprk if you arent tall. It is a full Ultegra drivetrain, hydraulic brakes instead of mechanical, and weighs 1.5# less too.

Diamondback is great and all, but isn't the only other online value brand around. Over $500 less than the DB with full Ultegra hydraulic.

I got $1954 for ultegra, but either way, its another good option and alternative to Canyon that delivers more for less.

BTW.. the two DB's you linked show at $2500 and $2800 respectively. You know the Canyon OP referred to (which is 105 Hydro) is only $1999 ?

Oh, i didnt recognize the Canyon as hydro as its usually displayed as RS505 or advertised on the main area as hydro since thats appealing so many now. Thanks for the clarification.

The Dback bike pricing is based on the company's free to all discount site. Same thing exists with Raleigh. It isnt some secretive deal or anything like that. At full listed retail price, neither bike is an excellent value.

That DB Century 5 is at $1994 on the discount site. Pretty good really, however they only have one size available. Also, it comes with 6800 Ultegra not 8000. I'd wait until Canyon and DB get their bikes with 8000.

I have a canyon ultimate CF SL (not X). The different should only be the geometry fo the frame. I am very pleased with it. For me, the Canyon frame and paint job (font style) is million miles better than the dback I saw from the replies here. The overall feel of Canyon is quite minimalist which is quite modern and world trendy. The dback, just the look of it feels like it is in 2000. Of course the price difference reflects the style difference.
