I've been riding with a clip strap set-up for a while now and am starting to notice people's techniques when it comes to clipping out of either clipless or clips. I am (predominantly) right handed and clip out of my right pedal at stops. I've seen more people doing their left foot, and am just wondering what you all do.
CLARIFICATION: If you are ambidextrous (like I kind of am), for -handed, select whichever had you feel you use more or is stronger.

Always on the left. Unless you just really ENJOY getting a nice chainring tatoo on your right calf every time you ride.
I see it every which way though, I think it just boils down to what feels natural.

I try to trackstand. If its too long of a light or I am getting off the bike, then it is whichever side I leaned to last.
Oh and I am left handed

Usually my left foot, but it can change if I am turning left immediately. Since my commuter bike has the old strap in pedals, if I miss the "flip the pedal over and insert foot" maneuver then the whole thing drags while turning and I'm certain that the car behind me is laughing.

Ambidextrous but I prefer to clip out with the left foot. I would occasionally clip out with right foot but only if chain is on the large chainring; having one's calf gouged by the large chainring is NOT fun (been there, done that....)

Right handed here - I unclip on the right just because I feel most comfortable using my left leg to pedal off from a stop. My left is also the natural foot of choice to launch off of when jumping from a run.

I just clip out randomly... it really depends. I never really get the chainring tattoo because when I DO clip out right-footed I keep my right leg planted a good foot or two from the chainring. I seem to be more comfortable when I clip out on the left side, though. Heck, I even unclip both feet sometimes. It's just completely random... no rhyme or reason to it, either. So I just voted both feet out. Might as well

I also unclip my right predominantly in order to take advantage of curbs. However, I am left-handed and for some reason feel more comfortable with starting my spin with my left foot forward. I'm also usually left foot chocolate when I go pedals-level.

Yeah that works ..... also the foot you push with when you're skateboarding (doing it properly, with the other foot near the front of the board) and the foot you kick a soccer ball with, etc. Dominent foot. Interestingly, that's the foot that ends up on the *tail* of a surfboard, since you do your "steering" on one of those more with that foot.
I'm left-handed but I ain't no goofy-foot.

hello
Either foot in equal frequency, depending on pedal position or whichever foot is easier to get out of at that moment. I guess I am one of the very, very few who do this instinctively. Plus side is that my cleats and pedals all wear evenly and last very long...

Rural roads are crowned for drainage which means right side of bike is lower than left side of bike. I'm short. No brainer; unclip left.

I'm ambedextrious and I clip out with my left only. My right foot is my "power" foot, so it always goes in first.

Wednesday I tried to be fancy and clipped in my left foot while getting on the bike. Almost toppled from a dead standstill. I guess I'm set in my ways: right foot is the first to clip in and the last to unclip.
I'm working on my trackstand though.

right handed, left foot unclipped.
I figure if I fall when clipped its gonna be towards the clipped side.
In traffic I'd rather fall towards the curb than into a car. . .
of course I messed up the poll, damned dyslexia. . . yeah the other right.

I always clip in/out with the right foot.
I'm right handed.
Never thought about those "crank tattoos" I was getting. I might have to try to "teach" myself how to use my left foot to unclip. Yikes, I suppose this means I'll be taking some nosedives as I get used to clipping the other foot.
