Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I rarely see Lezyne Road Caddy mentioned in these discussions, but I've been very pleased with mine. Easily fits a multi-tool, tube, CO2, levers, patch kit, attaches with a single, wide and strong strap. Even has an attachment point for a rear light.

Suits my needs for a minimalist seat bag as well. Looks good too.

Agreed, it' a nice looking bag, looked at it as well but ended up with Silca for the time being at least. Hoping it will suit my needs.

Ha, yeah it does, at least in the photos. It's pretty small, though.

I just measured mine and stuffed it's about 3.25" (w) x 4.75" (l) x 1.75" (d), so it fits well tucked under a saddle.

Have had the Arundel and Lezyne. Both are great. I also recently got a Castelli Mini and it's also very nice.

I'm sure not quite as well thought out, but came across this budget option that emulates this bag.

If you run into any issues with it, contact Silca. I had a boa that started to come lose on rides. They sent me a new one next day and had me send the old one back. YMMV, but from my experience, their customer service is awesome.

Yep. The Aeroclam is supercool; looks a charm and works one, too. It's very distinctive and unlike anything else as well.

That aeroclam looks really nice. If I have any problems with the Silca this is what I would try next. New frame gets here tomorrow, so stoked... wife is away for a few days so setting up my build area in the living room lol!

I wish the aeroclam was 5mm or so deeper. Other than that, it is great. It holds the minimum, keeps everything clean from road grime, and kind of disappears under your saddle.

What would you pack if it had 5mm extra depth? A couple of Gu, maybe?

I've gotten so accustomed to my packing procedures, that I don't even go into my AeroClams (or any seat bag) except for emergency repairs. The 'Clams carry repair essentials only, and everything else-- e.g. phone, money, gels-- go in a jersey pocket.

I can certainly appreciate others' needs for a bigger bag, like for an all-day rider who needs extra food and clothing storage, but for my types of rides, usually sport group rides in the 2 - 4 hour range with maybe a convenience store stop in there on the long rides, the "tight-n-right" philosophy of the AeroClam works for me.

I do know that the AeroClam guy has thought about making deeper lowers, but he had concerns about mount reinforcement for the upper piece, and I don't know if he resolved that or what. It might be worth an inquiry to him; he keeps files on saddle fit requests, and presumably if he gets enough for a given saddle, he gets to work on making the pack fit. I keep hoping he can find a way to accommodate SMP saddles, but their damned brand badge hanging off the rear makes it really difficult.

I like the Topeak saddle bags with the quick click mounting system. They come in several sizes and styles.

Nashbar has the Topeak Aero Wedge DX (Med) for $13.99 and the Sidekick Wedge (SML) for $14.99
