Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I said I didn't like IFs the other day, but this one looks pretty hot. Then again I love fat aero wheels too.

Holy smokes!

how can you not like IF's? You should see the paint on those suckers in person... oh, man it's unbelievable. I was actually talking to my LBS that sells them and he was saying that their paint is one of their biggest claims to fame. That and the simple fact that they don't use the same steel for all the tubes in their frames... They may use an UltraFoco downtube with an 831 top tube and so on. Basically they use the best tube for the job regardless of manufacturer. Pretty interesting stuff. Not sure if he's 100% correct on that, but I don't see why he wouldn't be.

Mixed tubes- Not a bad idea if one maunfacturer has a shape or profile the other doesn't.

That's interesting.

P.S. I like the flames on that bike actually

I think that Titus is minus the carbon.

Not so sure about those bikes, they're like 8k and I see them in mags like Men's Health and Outside mag.

Unless they're simply a level of bike pimpery I'm unable to comprehend at this time

anyone familiar with Titus?

That was exactly what he was referring to... if they absolutely need a tube x inches in diameter with x inches of butting... Reynolds doesn't offer it but Dedacciai does, they'll use the dedacciai tube in that place.. even if the rest of the frame is some other tube. Makes sense if you ask me.. and yeah, I LOVE the flames..

my understanding was that Titus was another smaller Ti framebuilder much like Moots but less about the custom and more about the "holy jesus!" factor?

I seem to remember it being in Chicago several years ago. By the way, I WILL own a Moots one day.

same thing I say about an IndyFab. I saw the paint on the two they have sitting in my LBS and almost had to make a quick trip to the bathroom.

I'm not sure how old the de Rosa Tango is, but it's hot. I saw one in person at the US PCT Championships (on Saturday at the hotel), and it was absolutely sexy. Everyone's head turned.

Yeah me too... don't know what it is but I keep coming back to that simple bead blasted Ti finish and conventional round tubes (we don't need no stinking acronym like GET to "market" our bikes! sheesh) as the sexiest bike in all that bling. The IF is a looker too...I've never seen a crown jewel up close, but the couple IF's I have seen are AMAZING.

How could you trust that Tube concept seriously? I don't care what it's made of.

If you look at krazyderek's picture just above that one, looks like there are cf tubes inside the titanium.

Edit: I checked out their website. It is laser cut titanium with carbon fiber tubing inside.

Thought they might have been showing the frame like that for marketing purposes and the real ones have the cf tubes in them. Dont know that brand too well so I'm guessing. If they do sell it like that...eeek!!! It looks cool though.

oops sorry 53, that was your post originally.

I didn't realize that when I posted, but yeah that's what it looks like they are doing (re: KrazyDerek's pic)

I believe that's just a demo frame like has been said... it was referred to as "sans carbon" leading me to believe it's missing the carbon tubes inside that it would normally have.
