This winter I removed all the decals off the Mavic wheel set, now they are plain black. Removed the huge yellow Litespeed decal and all the small ones; the frame is titanium so I could get away with it and it still looks new. Removed the names off all other parts with some #0000 steel wool; no scratches. She is 100% bike, no words, no adds. It now has a fluid flow to it's appearance, it's seems she just stands tuff on her own as The Bike. Maybe I'm wacked, wouldn't be the first time, seems very cool; anyone else ever do this?

Some people have more of an aversion to having logos plastered everywhere than others. There was one rider who posted a pic of a stealth grey C'dale with all of the logos removed except for the Slice Si on his fork. It looked pretty clean. Post a pic if you can, I'd like to see your "no-name" bike.
Here's the aforementioned bike: https://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...chmentid=32350

I'm still trying to remove the decals off my litespeed, my hair dryer is weak and I'm not about to take the 900 degree heat gun home from work yet.
Did you cover up the logos on the carbon fork? I taped them over with electrical tape so at least I have a stealth fork.

Oh yeah. One of the 1st things I did upon bringing the Sarthe home was take those wal-mart bike looking decals off the bontrager race lite wheels. Much better! Next, I'm going to see if I can get the bonty name off the seat post.
You did the right thing!

Wouldn't really work for my campy group anyway b/c the cables route under the bar tape. Thanks for trying, though.

Natchez I had started to crack in two years. My 2001 Pisgah started to crack a lot in 2 years, they have the yellow letters. My Ghisalo has the new black letters, and is now in it's third summer with much more time in the sun and a lot more miles, and it looks perfect. Maybe it's just a coincidence, it looks like the new stickers may be thinner too. ??

Thewalrus, the bike in my post is not the Synapse you posted; it's just a matte grey CAAD7 (probably an R700?) that's been stripped of decals/logos. I guess Cannondale took a cue from the Bad Boy line when designing the colour scheme for that Synapse.

I was thinking of putting some extra decals on my bike as there is still some paint showing. Guess I'm just not cool.

Let's face it - decalls are just cheap company advertising that add weight and drag to the bike. Of course, black adonization also adds unwanted weight. Never sacrifice weight and performance for image - leave that compramise to the pros.

I'm not fond of excessive stickers. The useless "chainstay guard" stickers are teh first to go...if I want a chainstay protector, no sub-mm thick piece of cellophane is going to do that.
I also am half tempted to remove the Kinesis frame sticker from my bike since the gloss black doesn't flow with the rest of the frame. As for the Kinesis fork Logo...I'll see, but I'm 50/50 on taking it off, as the sticker does keep my fork from being scratched up with some of the places I park it.
