specialized shoes with speedplay pedals
With a new bike coming into my possession I'm going to be moving my current shoes and pedals down to that one as a commuting bike and buying new shoes and pedals for my road bike. Two questions. First I currently have speedplay frogs and have no problems with the free float. Is there any reason to get zeros instead of the x series. Are there "improvments" other then adjustable float. Secondly I was looking to get some specialized shoes. Both my mtb shoes are specialized and I love them and most people give good reviews to their road shoes. I did however see some speculation/claims in other threads that specialized shoes and speedplay pedals don't play well together. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it founded in anything or is it all anecdotal?
Thanks in advance and enjoy your Fourth.

I have 2 pairs of Spec Pro Road shoes with X-2's, no problems whatsoever. Just put them on as per the instructions, use the little wedge under the cleat base and you'll be OK.

i use specialized shoes and zeros. No problems. If you have no problem spending the extra cash, go with the zeros. More adjustability options and supposedly a stronger/more durable spring.

I have Specialized Comp road shoes with X3's and it works perfect for me. The extra float doesn't bother me, so there's no reason to adjust anything. I really don't understand the need for so much adjustability.. for me, I'm either clipped in or clipped out, and as long as the transtion between these two circumstances is not a problem, there doesn't seem to be any real advantage to fine tuning entry and exit points.

I have the Specialized Carbon Comp shoes with Speedplay Zeros and have had no problems at all. A great shoe and pedal combination in my opinion.
