So, I tend to think about minutiae. I've been lurking ebay for stuff to build up my next bike, and it occurred to me as I drooled over some carbon items: Is it still proper OCP to have not paid MSRP, or new for that matter? Like if I picked up used carbon handlebar (as an example). Is that OCP heresy?

honestly, i think that makes it MORE ocp. that is, you'll be able to buy more carbon, which translates to more ocp bling.

Not as long as you're not ashamed to show it off in front of Starbucks / Coffee Bean / 7-Eleven / Stop-N-Go / U-Totem / Piggly Wigglies

Are kidding?
Some of my best 'OCP' qualifiers are the vintage jerseys I've found on ebay.
Old campy, peugeot and marresi are priceless relics and worthy of posing and being photographed wearing.
Treasures..........if you've got the eye!

A mark of a true OCP'r is one who managed to build a complete bike from e-bay parts. I for one am a true OCP'r having built both my current bikes from other folks trash!

that reminds me of a service that got press a year ago about printing fake ATM receipts showing lots of money. The intention is you fumble for and use it to hand out your number to the gold-digger you just bought a couple drinks for. Pretty funny....
