questions about my new f-55
I've got a couple quick questions about my felt f-55. The first issue i'm having is that the rear brake cable runs through the top tube and when you pull the brake it slaps the inside of the top tube and makes a loud pinging sound. Is there any way you can think of stopping that. On the same note, I want to install a set of nokon cables and I dont think that the kit comes with enough housing material to make all the way through the frame. Is there way of stopping the housing before it goes through the frame, and just running the cable through the frame? Also, has anyone used the dura-ace indicator with a set of nokon cables?
Thanks for your advice, Mike

Yeah, that would be the ideal fix but my cable runs through the top tube internally. I was just wondering if someone had a fix for it.
Thanks for the replies,
Michael

I love your thread title Mike...
Questions about my "NEW" F-55
Congrats firstly... you gotta post some pics
Umm, I too have a rubber thingy; but I think it's for my derailleur... you should talk to your LBS for these itty bity parts/mods.. They're probably the most experienced with internal cabling - not to mention they are right there & you just bought the bike... a good shop should do it for free...
Good luck
-Peter
PS. When you get the nokons... post pics of those too...

Thanks for the reply, I'll get the pics up tomorrow. I just put on the easton slx fork, and I still need to cut the steer tube. I asked the guys at the shop, and they had no clue. I did find a temporary (maybe perminant we'll see tomorrow) fix. I pushed the cable through so that I had more sticking out the back side. For some reason that seamed to stop the pinging. I think I may shorten up the housing and get rid of some of the slack. As far as the nokon's go, I'm thinking about only the shifter set. I just don't see how it would work going through the frame. So far i've added an ec90 equipe bar, slr saddle, alien carbon post, and fsa vision stem. I'm waiting for the american classic bottom bracket to come in. I'm hoping it'll be around 16 lbs with computer, cages, and pedals. I'll put up some pics tomorrow, and give the final weight.
