It says nothing about how strong the sole is, so if you know first hand about this shoe, please give feedback.

Specialized shoes are as durable as any. You should focus on how well they fit and if they have the right amount of stiffness for you. Some people like super-stiff shoes. Some people don't.

Like my Sidi Lasers, they seem just as stiff as day one, but I'm wondering just how much the specialize breakdown over time. In other words, are they good enough for long distances over 1000s of miles?

You Know!? For Kids!
i have the sport mountain shoe, which is the mens/unisex version of the shoe you are looking at I believe. I only have 400 or so miles on them, but no complaints. I use them on my rode bike. No hot spots, has a really roomy toe box, which is nice with my wide foot (11 EEE). Easy to walk in, seems really stiff and I weigh around 240 lb. Cannot comment on long ride comfort as my average ride is in the 15-20 mile range. I have no problems reccommending the shoe I wear. https://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCEqP...jsp?spid=10150

I'm a HUGE Diadora fan, I personally thought the specialized shoe was very unconfortable but then again I know a ton of peeps who think it's the best thing in the world. So as they said above, it is a stiff shoe but doens't mean jack if it doesn't feel good on you.

Thanks Lordopie for the thread, everyone, he is talking about my shoe, just so everyone knows LO is a man!!! He is being kind.
I love this shoe, but I have a pain shooting across the top of my foot when riding a good long distance, I also have alittle outside pain on my feet too. We are not sure if its the shoe or the pedals. Thanks LO!!!

FYI to everyone else, we're making minor cleat adjustments trying to improve the situation... seems to have helped some. Snowy has over 1000 miles on the shoe and I'm just not sure whether she should buy new shoes or what. I bend the shoe and it seems pretty solid.
