Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

fi'zi:k

--see pix below--

I see a lot of pros at Superweek races this week with these saddles.

They look pretty cool. Reviews from users? Expensive? I'm thinking about experimenting away from the basic saddle that came with my Klein. It's OK...but maybe there is something better????

I don't have the arione, but I do have a rondine and it's great. No soreness, no chafing on the legs, and lots of saddle to move forward or back on. If the arione is at all similar, I'd say give it a serious look (and a ride).

I have an Arione.... it's nice but really starts to hurt me after about 30 miles in the saddle.. I think it's just my anatomy. Either way, I think it's a good saddle and I love how long it is. I just wish I could do more than 25-30 miles on it without serious pain.

Or, according to the company's own website:

"The fi'zi:k brand was born in 1996 - a high-end bicycle saddle line - designed in the USA and handmade in Italy by the world's largest saddle manufacturer. Fi'zi:k is the phonetic spelling of the word "physique" - referring to the form or state of the human body. "

This is the correct answer.

I have one and after 500 miles of racing, it's up for grabs. Just doesn't work for me

I have a basic black Arione with about 200km on it now and it is fantastic. Much comfier than the SLR gel flow it replaced.

no, it's the phonetic spelling of the work physique

go to dictionary.com and put physique in = fizik

pronounce as "physique"

yeah, most places have pretty lenient "tryout" policies, arione might be an exception though. It has groves that are supposed to crack after you break the saddle in. They would probably give you a few days with it though.

here's a great article on the arione, which explains how it works

Saddle Breakthrough: Fizik Arione

good luck

This arione is cool because it is long which gives you more riding positions. Comfortable......maybe? LOL......If the BSer who claims this saddle is comfortable can do it for 60 miles without padded shorts then it's comfortable.

WTH is up with people saying saddle is comfortable, but then saying only with their padded shorts. Makes no sense.

Lots of saddles are garbage. So this one doesn't have to be that good to still win.
