Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Trek 8i computer - button problems!

My first post!

I have the Trek 8i computer, and I find that the buttons aren't very responsive. What I mean is that to cycle through the menus, I can't just tap the button such that it "clicks," rather, I have to press it even harder, sometimes while gripping the whole unit just to get enough leverage to make it respond. This is pretty annoying when I'm riding hard.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm not happy with the computer in general, but I got it free, so I hate to just give up on it and have to buy a different one.

Thanks.

yeah, i've got the same problems. I think it is just poor construction, but not enough for me to go out and buy another one.

same thing here, it either sticks and won't cycle through without some effort or it decides to work properly from time to time and I miss my menu choice because I pressed so hard because thats what I am used to having to do.

Still, all in all, I think it is pretty darn good for the $29 installed I paid a couple months age.
