Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pics of New Wheels(oddsandendos)...

Got my new wheels this week, and I absolutely love them. Got Velocity Aerohead Rims with 32 spokes front and bike. They look and ride great. Mike Garcia was great to work with and definately will have a return customer with me....

They are carbons. I read some good things about them on this site, so went with those. Thanks for the compliments. My bike was pretty boring looking, I need some color in it, so I went with the red wheels, tires, and handlebar tape, looks like a totally new bike. The wheels are friggin great, they roll so smooooooth. Cryogenic, thanks for all your posts on Mikes wheels, you were definately one of the reasons I got his wheels, and I have no doubt I made the right decision....

I've noticed that myself... As a matter of fact, I routinely coast up on people riding Ksyriums and Bontragers going downhill despite the fact that they outweigh me by 40-70 lbs. I'm not sure if this is a function of the hubs or the 30mm deep section rim and bladed spokes but I'm not complaining. On the downside, I think my pressure washing my bike has had ill effects on my rear hub. The freehub body has some stiction now, which leads me to believe I've managed to blow the grease out between the freehub and axle or whatever. I'm having it re-greased Tuesday.

wow. I'm really impressed with how light these wheels are. For just $300 you can score a SpeedCific Niobium 30 set weighing in at a mere 1500 grams. Similar non-aero wheels cost twice as much.

Same wheels and same spoke count that I bought from Mike, except I went with black rims. Beautiful wheels and expert craftsmanship. As veneer said, "Welcome to the MGC club".
