Performance Axiom A.08C w/ Cadence Opinion
Hi everyone. I currently have a Cat Eye Astrale 8 and love it. After riding with it for a couple of weeks and constantly yelling readouts to my girlfriend (riding partner as well), she says "I want a computer with Cadence too!" I thought that was great and planned on having her get a Astale 8 too. But, when I logged onto Performance, I notice their house brand cadence computer is on sale fot $20 plus I have a coupon to discount any axiom computer no matter the price. That would be $18 before tax. That's a savings of $12 over the Astrale currently. I was wonder what all of your opinions are.

I have an older version of it that works perfectly well. I had some issues early on with it not registering the cadence but I think it was my lousy installation. It hasn't been an issue since adjusting the position of magnets, etc.

I got the A08C for a penny when I bought a trainer from Performance. It works absolutely fine. Most of the time I leave it showing speed (or lack thereof) and cadence.
The only tricky part was mounting it so that there's not a lot of slack in the wires, but enough slack so that you can turn the wheel and not break the wires. Good luck!

I have that computer. Its ok, one major thing was recently i was looking around ym bike adn I saw my comp was a little loose. So I lookes and saw that half of it was completely off the mount. So i go to look at it and the other side easily came off of the mount, so now the computer was just hanging around. I said to my self woopee! so i said I would call performance (they are usually good about this) but I didnt have time because I was going on a ride that I wanted my comp to look at. so i superglued and from then on it stayed on, but by super glue. not the original mount.
also make sure you mount the cadence magnet on the crank tight because on mine it has a history of slipping up or down on my crank thus showing readings. other than that go for it.
