Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Don't know if this belongs in the mechanics section but...

I won this auction on ebay https://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...e=STRK:MEWA:IT for a 42t chain ring for my 9 speed ultegra double, but now i don't know if it's the right width for a 9 spd chain i know the bolt holes are the right diameter, should i just take out the digital calipers when it gets here, or is there some way to look this up ? "shimano SG 42 T"

It'll work. It's for 3/32 deralier chains, not a track ring for 1/8" chains.
