Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My cycling team advisor has a Litespeed Classic with Ultegra, a Litespeed mountain bike with XT. My history teacher in high school has a Litespeed but i don't know which model. He said something like spending 7 grand on it. Those are probably the most expensive bikes I've seen in person.

The other bike I have in mind is the bike shop mechanic's bike. Cannondale Six-13, full Dura-Ace, Dura-Ace crank with Cannondale gold rings, nokon wires, Deda Alanera integrated bars, and his choice of Ksyrium SL's, Dura-Ace wheels, Zipps, or Hed-3's.

custom frame. Early limited edition models will be $7995.00 for frame and fork.

DeRosa King (i think) full Record the guy payed around 7k. Only thing different I would have done was go with a different wheelset as he dis Ksyrium. why put the most common wheels on an uncommon bike for my area?

Most expensive I have seen as a complete bike was a tricked out Look with Carbon Record everything for 8.5K. The same shop has a partially built Seven Elium with Lightweight wheels for 8K. And my own most expensive bike is an 06 C-Dale 6-13 for 4.5K purchase price and about 4.8K as ridden today.

The last couple of weeks there has been a guy showing up on our Saturday ride with a Giant TCR composite w/full Campy Record and an Obermeyer Light Weight wheel set. With that build up, it's probably the most expensive I've seen. I see lots of Dogmas, though. Throw those Obermeyers on any Italian frame and I imagine that would be it.

One of my friend's sunny day bikes is a Pinarello Prince. It's full record with Zipp 404's. I'd guess around 6K. That's the most expensive I've seen on the road and not in a shop.

Be apparently is also quite toxic. Which, in addition to use in military weapons, would surely have an impact on its use in the cycling industry.

Custom built Davidson, ti and carbon. 13.1 pounds for a rider about 5'9". He said it cost just south of ten grand, and that his kids were out of college. He smiled when he said that.

I saw a guy on a Litespeed Vortex. I don't know if it was stock or upgraded. He was going too fast. I was driving.

My bike may not be the most expensive but in terms of love and time invested in it it ranks pretty highly!

It also looks better than most (completely unbiased, objective opinion). See what I mean My Ride

I saw one of these on display in the shop. Absolutely beautiful. I didn't bother asking how much as it didn't have a price tag, and I didn't want a heart attack. I see on Davidson's web site that the frame only runs $3000. I know what I'm getting if I win the lottery.

"Your's" is actually a quite common misspelling, and it's a far cry from AOL'ese or "txtspk" which is just plain LAZY. How ************* hard is it to type a three letter word correctly? I could understand "yuo", "ypu" etc as those are also typos and I'm fine with that.

However Ur isn't a typo it's a bastardization of a perfectly good word all for the sake of saving a couple keystrokes on a board where time is not an issue in making a response. I could understand it in a real time chat situation where the guy is typing one handed due to lotion or something but there's no reason to do it here.

In my defense I DID run it through the spell check
"ur" is also a typographical error. The user simply forgot to type the "y" and "o" letters. We're sorry if ur limit is only one typo per word.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Dogma Ego, $16,500.
I also custom built a bike on competitive cyclist that cost about $21000 in parts.

i like your chainstay protector. it looks very warm. yours is the first bike i've seen on here with the same bar/stem combo as mine.
