Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That video has been posted everywhere. The kids are friends and have a habit of doing stupid stuff like that when they see each other. The one kid was leaning out the door to slap the back of his friend's head as he drove past, but the door opened and he slipped out. The kid didn't die; he just ended up going through some facial surgery.

Hopefully he got some brain surgery while they were at it. I've seen that video, but his fate was much deserved. If he wanted to smack the kid's head, hang out the window, not out the door. Doors can cause much more major accidents, as this kind found out.

In reading articles that were sent around on the same video, the kid in the car was trying to hang out the window. **** hit the fan when the door opened, but the kid didn't realize it right then how much trouble he was in yet. Very very stupid thing to do, even trying to get that close to a person on a bike with a car in the first place, especially to "surprise" them--that act could have led to disaster as well.

I for one blame the parents

It's a tough call though really. We've all done stupid things as we were children, or am I the only one? I think it's a little harsh to not feel sorry for him at all. It was dumb (extremely) on his part, but I wouldn't wish that kind of accident on the dumbest of the lot.

Even though he didn't die, he should definitely get a nod from the fine folks at the Darwin institute or an honorable mention for a Darwin award.

(P.S., How do you know he did/didn't die? Can anybody source an article that states exactly what happened? I'm still inclined to believe it was put-on until I see something a little more difinitive.)

I, pray for mercy as I certainly don't want justice for all the stupid things I did as a teenager. We used to pull up beside bikers and pull on the Pinto's parking brake will lightly breaking; this locks up the rear tires and makes a horrendous screech. Sometimes they would actually jump off of the bikes. Like I said, I now pray for mercy and not justice, because I was an idiot when I was a teenager.

You know what the most asked question of the youth today is?........."Huh?"

Fate? Justice? For a kid pulling a prank? You're some seriously depraved puppies. Disgusting.
