Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Amazing photos! It really sounds like a ride for me! I'm so happy you shared this with us. Never thought of CA as a place for me to move, but now...

Awesome... I'm so jealous. I only hiked in the Sierras (completed John Muir Trail, twice), never cycled, but I'll love to do some cycling around there. Next year maybe

Thanks for sharing.

Now thats a road trip! Made my quads quiver to look at the climbing profile, though. Ouch.

Sequoia/Kings Canyon is a beautiful part of California. Just as beautiful as Yosemite, but with a fraction of the cars. Unfortunately, mountain bikes are mostly banned, but the hiking is fantastic and there are some good road bike routes.

http://maps.nationalgeographic.com/topo/ ... however, I retyped the names of roads/passes in Adobe Photoshop because they were automated generated using vertical text orientation which I don't like... too hard to read and a waste of space.
