Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What do you guys think? '05 S-works E5 road blended with TCR Composite 3

Hi all,

I just wanted to get your opinions on my new bike...
It is a modified (it was a limited promo frame) 2005 Specialized s-works E5 road framset with the carbon fork and seat stays from the tarmac model. The geometry is the same as the Allez. The component set is pretty much stock off of a 2005 Giant TCR Composite 3.

Let me know what you think...
Thanks!

I got it on ebay. Don't know if it's the one you saw, but this one's for real!

I'm pretty sure that is just an Allex Comp, in the red color. Does it say S-Works anywhere on the frame? Either way, it's a nice looking bike.

Hmmmm......never seen a S-Works frame that was not labeled S-Works. Looks like a red Allez Comp to me. Nice bike

EDIT (Briscoe musta hit the enter key first)

It does look like a red Allez Comp - my Allez Elite says "Columbus SLX E5" on some stickers. I presume the "E5" is some specification of the tubing used. The front of the bike looks identical to mine, and the carbon seatstays look just like the Comp's. Nice looking bike you have there!

It's the real thing. Specialized have been giving them out to teams this year. Set for general release sometime next year. The E5 is still the best race bike Specialized built.

My LBS told me that the frame is exactly like this year's Allez Comp...it's just red. Nevertheless, it's a great looking bike!

The E5 is a nice bike. The $950 retail price for the S-works E5 is still a good price. I love my Allez Elite... which is very similar to that frame... and basically the same as past years E5.
