Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Top tube length

I have a 57 cm Iron Horse Intrepid Road Bike; the top tube measures 59cm according to specs. Does this seem to be very long? I am comparing to other bikes and they seem to be in range to 56 - 57.

Yes it is more in line with the geometry done by Lemond? Just make sure you size yourself with the Top tube as well.

Does Iron Horse measure the seat tube center-to-center or center-to-top? If it's 57cm C-C, it may be what many manufactureres would call a 59cm or 60 cm frame.

Yikes. My 57cm Scattante has a 57.0 cm TT, and my 56cm OCLV has a 56.5 cm TT. 59cm on a 57 is a bit long IMO.

(I use a 110mm stem on both)

Suggest getting a tape measure and confirming those specs.

Bike is in the shop for a tuneup. As soon as it comes out I will measure. Does anyone know how to get the image form a pdf off of clipboard?

I measure my top tube c-c and I got 57.46. It still appears pretty long compared to other 57 cm bikes that I have been seeing.

That does seem to be an unusual geometry, yes. Is it a sloped top tube?
