Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just updated my origional post to reflect the latest information.

I'm glad to report that the "guy" in question has finally surfaced and contacted me via PM. He demands a complete retraction since his reputation is being damaged.

I'd like to ask all to keep this thread bumped up near the top to continue to put pressure on the situation until it breaks.

Thanks for all the support.

Ed

What? No excuse. Any honorable guy with any integrity would have contacted you to work out payment details instead of ignoring the situation. I can smell a lie like a fart in an elevator.

Hey! The early bird gets the "Fill in name here" If you are that short on cash, you wouldn't be buying bike parts. Be a man. Pay for the fork. You have it and have probably used it.

I wouldn't retract anything until he held his side of the bargain. Anything less, our view of his oh so valuable "reputation" holds as is.

Even if he does make good, it won't change the chain of events. A simple acknowledgement would be all that's in order, if that.

I can then make my mind up based on the whole of the postings whether I want to do business with Performance or Bikesdirect or anyone else. I think these kinds of disputes are best hashed out by the members in a public forum following the posting guidelines of the forum.
I explained why this was not allowed.

Thread closed. I let it stay open so that contact could be made. Thats more of a hands on approach than intended. Contact has been made and this is now up to them to deal with.

1 - Do not post this persons real name publicly
2 - Do not post harrassing notes to this person. (this includes any members, I am sure the person involved will let me know)
3 - We do not have the method or means to support these kinds of transactions. If you want to trade/sell/buy anything. Do this at your own risk. Do not involve bikeforums. Suggestions? Deal through ebay, use paypal or an insured cc.
4 - No more threads on this topic.
