I've been lurking around for awhile trying to research for a pair of wheelset. I've found a lot of the posts recommend going w/ custom builds for a lot less weight and lesser expense. Anyways, I bought the '06 ES K's. Being only 128 lbs @ 5'4" I definitely could have gotten lighter custom wheels but it was more of the aesthetics that made the purchase. I was looking at buying their protection plan (I think its called the MP3) w/c covers parts & labor for reapirs; my LBS wanted 8% of the sticker price for this plan. Can I get it directly from mavic.com or does it have to be purchased from the LBS where I got the wheels from?

According to the ticket I got w/my purchase it states you have to register w/i 7 days of purchase. 8% was the rate I was quoted. Cheap insurance.

I've been trying to navigate around mavic.com but can't seem to find a link to register for this plan; if so does this mean I have to go back to my LBS?

Also, was your 8% based on the list price or the final (negotiated) selling price?
