55/Rad Paint Job Update - Could It be???
I'm not going to do a long back story other than to say I REALLY REALLY wanted this guy to paint my frame. The consequence was that I had to wait. And wait.....
So, after 15 months of waiting, the custom paint on the Tete will be finished this week. Like it or not, pictures should be up next week.
Woo hoo.
Here's photo of where this frame started.

Sorry Rad, but I'm not buying it. Remember when you leaned on him last time and we all thought it was going to get things moving... that was like six months ago! As they don't say (but really should), the proof is in the gold-flake paint, I'll believe it when I see it.

Why did it take 15 months? Was it hand painted with a fine-tip brush?

Congrats. A well deserved ride afterwards is of requirement.
Why did you want to get it repainted in the first place? It looks nice as is.

From the beginning, I knew that painting this frame at all would bring about a multitude of differing opinions. I understand - it's a gorgeous frame to begin with.
So why paint it? Simple. The original goal was a bike like no other. Once I committed to yet another Lemond, that goal became more difficult to reach.
As for what it looks like, I'm holding off until I can post pics. I can say this - it's a concept/theme and more abstract as opposed to literal. And respect will be paid to the bare materials (carbon and Ti) too.

I don't know how often I find myself walking down the street thinking "man, when is that guy going to get his frame back?" Looking forward to seeing it. Could this be the most hyped paint job ever?

Wouldn't it be ironic if you didn't like it or it just wasn't what you expected?
