Yawn, how about some new paintjob ideas?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yawn, how about some new paintjob ideas?

Carbon fiber, blue, red, plain, silver, orange, yawn...................

How about some new ideas? I got so many cool ideas for paintjobs on blinged out bikes.

How about a reflective bike? Almost like a mirror. I've seen a car like that before, so they can defintely do that to a bike.

Or how about a rainbow bike? Every color of the rainbow, now that is damn sexy!

Or a clear plexiglass bike? Okay, that's a little too crazy.

But if you can afford that $5000 Look, why not paint it to stand out?

A rainbow bike? Now that's real OCP.

I have on older Eddy Merckx right now and I have been thinking about sending it away to be customized. I as thinking that all white covered in dark red stains and splatters all over might be kind of cool and keeping with the name "the cannibal". Kind of like a murder scene, but on the frame and carbon bars.

On a aluminum bike how about useing any number of translucent paints (make your own by mixxing clear coat with your chosen paint color) My dad did some aluminum mag rims for his 75 camero in red. He did a brushed finish on the rims first Used candy apple red in the clear and sprayed them. The effect was quite intresting. It looked like a candy apple red perl. I seen a cannondale touring bike early to mid 90s on ebay that was clear over brushed. It looked like a perl silver color. Now ive been planing on a red white and blue style paint job for my own t400 from 87. Insead of solid colors im going with the translucent paint mix over brushed.

Land Shark does the most amazing things I've seen with paint on bikes. There are 5 galeries here, see for yourself.

OCP wasn't the three letters I was thinking. You'd be a hit with that color scheme in a few places.

Damn, this dude is in some HARDCORE OCP action: https://www.landsharkbicycles.com/Gallery/Loeser.html

For a paint idea I'd say get creative with the pearlcoats. Maybe a pearl "sarthe" orange, with metallic white lettering....or just get really weird, and go for a metallic red bike with pearlescent black flames.

Transparent Aluminum Oxide.

https://www.rense.com/general20/transparentalum.htm

A questionable website, to say the least, but Alumina does exist.

The porn!!

That bike that's red on one side and blue on the other is pure genius. Why didn't I think of that?

Quit posting these pictures please!!!! I just spent $2600 having a bike built for me in the end of August and I love it. This forum is making me pondering selling it and investing in one of these fine machines eventhough I don't need to at all!
