I have been test riding bikes for about 2 weeks now trying to figure out what bike to buy for my first road bike. I really enjoyed the ride of a 03 Lemond. i am guessing that it was the steel frame and ultegra components that did it for me because i really didnt like the feel of aluminum. in addition the Lemond was only $1050, but unfortunately the bike was a tad too big as the salesman pointed out. as a result i have gone to my local bike shop who offered me an 05 Masi Speciale Carbon (that i have not ridden) for $1700. the bike looks sweet, but seeing as how i have never ridden it and there is a lack of reviews on the bike i would like some feedback as to the ride and price of the bike. also, seeing how i am 25 years old, i may decide to race the bike - so would this bike be too heavy? thanks for your help
