2005 Honda Civic Rack
I need a rack for a Honda Civic, I have the trunk rack but I don't trust it. I am mainly looking for input from other Honda Civic & small car owners. If you could point me to either a roof rack or a trailer hitch rack and why you like it, you input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There are dozens of threads about racks already on these boards. Search for "Yakima", "Thule", or "Saris". I've used the same Yakima roof rack for about 12 years on a Civic, an Accord, and a Volvo wagon (just changing towers/clips for each car), and it's worked great for me.

As va cyclist suggested, search. Everyone has their preference and reasons. For me, I have a Saris rack on my CRX and it works great. On and off in 5 minutes with the self-centering load bars and it's only $40 to get new clips to use on another vehicle. Lifetime warranty and great company too.

I use a trailer hitch mounted rack on my 2 door Civic.
It is very easy to put on and take off and very sturdy.

I just fold my Civic's rear seat down, take off the bike's front wheel, and slide it in through the trunk. Whole lot easier, and don't have to worry about rain or bugs or it getting stolen.

A good roof rack is the way to go on a small car. They are very expensive though. A good idea is to price out a rack and all the nessessary parts to mount it to your car and see if you can find one used in the paper or E-Bay.
