Correct Tire Sizing
I'm putting some new tires/tubes on my dad's old Motobecane Mirage (circa 1970), and the tires said 27x1.25; however, the tires look like 23mm 700c tires. Can anyone shed any light on what size tubes/tires I should install on there?
Thanks!
Thanks!

27" x 1 1/4" are not the same as 700c. There are a number of different 27" tires out there still. I'm rolling on a pair of IRC Duro-Winner II's on my road bike right now. Think they were about $12 a piece at Nashbar. I like 1 1/8" width over the 1 1/4" personally.
(Internal diameter of 700c vs 27" is 8mm so yes, they do look very close)
fyi #2: 700c tubes and 27" tubes are interchangable - just make sure the width is right for the tire size.
