Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A few changes since I last posted a pic. Different fork (Ritchey WCS), shifters (Red) and cassette (Red also). Plus a bit of tweaking here and there. Shed ~1/4lb. 12.8lbs as shown. Mirror included .

Oh yeah, new wheels too. Soul 2.0 23mms.

It is pretty noodley huh. If this was my forever bike (whatever that means) I would do it. But it's a size small so I'll be moving on the first chance I get.

Waited months to make this purchase, surprisingly they had a 2013 model, my size, and a huge discount to go with it. Very happy with the purchase, Di2 shifting is such a dream, don't know how I ever rode bikes without it.

CAAD9 with Athena 11s. Shifts like a dream - no need for Di2.

Ok, I gotta ask (unless your LBS built it up like that)......What did you change?? (I'm assuming 2014 Evo 3?)

I see yours has Ultegra cranks. (on the stock BB30?) And your stem & seatpost are changed. (saddle & bar tape too, though I can't blame you)

Oh, and also looks like you changed wheels out in that bottom pic. (I almost thought it was another bike cuz it almost looks white in bottom pic)

TIA

P.S. Maybe the better question is......Was it ever bone stock?

I changed post for the 15mm set-back, rather than 25 of the OEM post. I run a 125mm stem and like the fat PRO bars; everything matches now as well. I swapped cranks because it came with a 50/34 and I had a 53/39 from the previous frame so that was cheaper than buying a Hollowgram SiSL2. It was bone stock for about 15 minutes after delivered.

LOL!!

And did you already have both the seatpost and the stem from prior bike??

And curious, did you have to use an adapter for the Ultegra crankset for the BB30?? (I was under the impression the BB30 was why C'dale uses FSA or their own stuff for cranksets)

And by "fat PRO bars" do you just mean the stem bar diameter itself, or are those handlebars also PRO & larger than the oem???

Thanks again!

P.S. Oh, and your wheels! Looks like you swapped those out too??

Yes, had it all, go back one page to see the old CAAD10; I broke a seat stay and wheel, so this used bicycle made sense.

I use the Praxis adapter. People give me hell over changing from BB30 to Shimano, but everyone will agree that Shimano shifts way better than FSA garbage and I would have run a Praxis crank-ring set if the bicycle came with 130BCD crank arms. So, that SL-K crank went to my CX bike and cut almost a pound off that bike. Eventually I'll get a Hollowgram crank.

31.7mm bar width going into the hoods, way fatter around the bed. It's a minor change, but I like it and like the drop in the bars.

I just threw the carbon wheels on there to see how great it looked, I'm in the poor-house for a while. I bought a CX bike two weeks before breaking my road bike and getting the blue one above. Great color, it was the only SS Evo I was interested in; I LOVE the paint...LOVE.

I regetted the day I sold my System Six two years ago but I always felt it was alittle to tall for me at 58cm , so I decided to give it another go, but on this go around somthing alittle shorter & lighter , a 54cm Six13 should make for a fun build over the next month or so , the Vuelta Superlite wheels, original fork and among other bits and pieces are awaiting its arrival

This is mid-ride early morning, so not the best photo or staging...

2014 Supersix Evo UI2 (not hi-mod). Zipp 303's, 3T Dorico seatpost, Romin saddle, Enve compact bar. Everything else stock.
