Does anybody have a Specialized S-Works M4?
I was casually watching an Ebay auction over the past few days and wound up the winning bidder on a 2003 Specialized S-Works M4 frame in the controversial? Festina colors. I had liked the look of the frame since someone here posted a pic of one a while back, maybe it's the aero tubing. And I'm not wild about the colors but it can't hurt to have that paint scheme a-la Festina scandal...
This is one brand of bikes that I know VERY little about mainly because probably other brands had my attention. Can someone enlighten me? Even if it's crappy. It seemed like a steal, but we'll see, I suppose.
Here's a pic of a full bike, this pic is better bike porn than the photos on the auction.

You Know!? For Kids!
Man, I hope it does not have a barrel adjuster stuck in a ferrule on the down tube. Sorry that I have nothing useful to offer you, but it is a sweet looking rig. Are you going to try an build the frame set up to resemble the picture above?

Dude, I swear to God if there's even one ferrule stuck in there I'm sending that piece of Shhite unrideable frame back to that no good cheating seller!!!!
BAAAHAHAAAAHAHAAAA!
Seriously, I don't know what I'm gonna do with it... I think I've got enough pieces to pull together about half a bike. I've got a Trek 1500 that I could just do a frame swap with but I'm not too keen on that idea.
The bike in that pic I had attached is pretty, well..... "loud". But I'm diggin' it.

I like those Cosmics with it, not the new variety with the tiny lettering like I have for my Kestrel, but with the big "COSMIC" letters.
Aww, come on, I want some of that yellow-fade to brown bartape like in the pic.
Here's a pic from the auction, as you can see, it'll take a lot of work to get it from this to the photo above.

It's that little aluminum cup that is on the end of the cable. The end of the cable slides into to keep it from falling through the cable guide on the frame

I've owned two of the S-Works M-4 frames in the Festina colors and have allways thought it's one of the best "$300.00" type frames you can buy on eBay and build up. They are a little heavier then some of the other S-Work models but it's aerodynamics makes up for it. If you have any questions on building it up you can e-mail me anytime.
