Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is anyone here using Power Cordz cables??

Anyone using these . Very OCP and Weight Weenieish, but so is my new build Curious to see if anybody actually notices smoother shifting and braking. Also, what housing are you using? I appreciate any input and/or tips regarding these. Thanks...

A Pain in the ass!!! I installed these on a show bike/ weight weenie we were building for Interbike this year. You can only pinch them at the derailleurs or brakes once, because the houseing gets chewed up and the inner core frays. Mushy brake performance. We used quality housing because it was recomended on the spec sheet we got with the cables. In my mind, not worth the price (and we got ours for free!!!). Weight reductions and OCP points aside, performance is the same or worse than regular teflon coated steel cables.

Thanks for the heads up. I will probably stick with the Shimano cable/housing.
