Look at what this slime ball did, this truly tops them all. I believe in karma, so he/she/they will get theirs. The Reporter in this news clip keeps referring to these bikes as "specialized". They are built spefic, not Spcialized as in the brand.

I heard about it. That really bites. The punks who stole the stuff worth around $60,000 will probably only be able to get a few hundred for it since the bikes are so specialized.
It's good to see that some local corporations have donated decent sums of money to replace the bikes though.

Every day a winding road
Well if this is not a good cause then I don't know what is. Plus another good sticky thread, at least temporarily.
Have the corporations covered the loss? If not, can someone get the address of this place to donate money? I'm in if they still need help. Anyone else?

I emailed the director of the organization when I heard about this on another bike forum. A local company pledged $25,000 matching funds. So I am going to contribute some money. The poster above provided a link. The email she sent meand my origional email is pasted below.
Hi Gerald,
Thanks for your email and your support. We're also hoping that at least
some of the bikes are recovered - there are a lot of people keeping a look
out for them, so it seems possible. We have been really touched by the
outpouring of community support in response to the theft. We've had all
kinds of calls and emails from folks like you wanting to help with
donations, getting the word out, combing flea markets, asking bike shops
for donated equipment and supplies, etc.
You may have heard in the news that PG&E has offered a $25,000 challenge
grant to help replace the stolen equipment, which is just amazing. They
are going to match every contribution we receive, up to $25K. The
community has already responded generously, and we are on the way to
raising the required matching funds for the grant. BORP is a relatively
small nonprofit and we have never seen anything quite like this in our 30
years of running our programs. It's just wonderful.
I will keep you posted on any developments in the search for the stolen
bikes. In the meantime, if you are willing and able to post information
about the PG&E grant and the need for more matching donations in your
forums, this could help us to reach the $25K goal.
People can make donations either through our website at www.borp.org or by
sending a check to:
Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program (BORP)
830 Bancroft Way, Ste 205
Berkeley, CA 94710
ph.510-849-4663
Donations are tax deductible.
BORP is a 501(c)3 nonprofit tax-exempt charity.
FEIN#94-2324340
Let me know if you need any other info.
Thanks again, Gerald. We really appreciate your help in getting the word out!
Best,
-Julie

I just sent a $25 check. I figured it was worth $50 to with the matching fund.
