ZA Argus Cycle Tour - largest timed 1-day event?
Hi
In March next year I'll be participating in my 8th Argus Cycle Tour in Cape Town, South Africa. Around 35000 registered participants, in one day, over 108km.
Does anyone know of a larger, organised, timed 1-day event?
G
ps. Super scenic, wonderful city (it's my hometown ), and highly recommended!!!

WOW. I just did a quick calculation, if you stationed all the riders evenly around the route, you would have one bike every 3 meters or so. Stick them into a double eschelon pace line, and it would extend around 35KM bassed on a each bike taking up about 2 meters, allowing for a little space between bikes.
Talk about a critical mass ride.
Have fun,
Steve W.
