Thanks

Try Look Keo Sprints or Keo Classics...Can get either for under $100 (including shipping) if you shop around enough -- try probikekit in the UK (easy and cheap shipping to the US). If you want to spend even less, it's easy to find Look PP--- pedals (various models) from US mail-order dealers for cheap bucks right now.

Im not sure if this is what you are after or not. But I've been using the Shimano 105 pedals that my LBS gave me when I bought my bike and I love them. So far Ive had no problems at all. The cleats are SPD-SL, which seems to be similar to LOOK. Ive only had these and some mountain SPD's on my road bike, what a huge difference. And my LBS gave me a great deal on them.

By look type you aren't specifying look pedals right?

Just to clarify, LOOK is a manufaturer of pedals, just as Shimano, Campagnolo, Time, Wellgo and Speedplay. Look has been copied by Wellgo for instance and they use a similar, if not identical cleat. So, if you bought the Wellgo's that used Look cleats, you are buying Look-type cleats. Each maufaturer uses their own special cleat.
Check performance bike and you can find decent clipless pedals all day for <$100.

They use a three bolt "delta" pattern to affix the cleat to the shoes, just like Look, and since Look set the standard, all cleats that utilize a three bolt cleat are called "Look-type" pedals.
It's also how the pedal system works that makes it Look-type.

I've used Nashbar Ventoux road pedals for a few years now and I love them. Same performance as the more expensive models, and weight is just over 300 gr. I recently switched to the Nashbar Z17 Ti pedal, titanium spindle, outboard bearings, and the same weight as Dura Ace, but for allot cheaper. Regularly $130 but now on sale for $80. For even cheaper you can go with the non Ti Z17, or the Ventoux 2's. I was going to go to Ultegra until Nashbar came out with the Z17Ti, lighter pedal at a cheaper price. What's not to like? And for those that don't wanna be seen with Nashbar stuff, the logo is hidden under your shoe.
