Prep, Base, and Build?
What phase is all the endurance rides supposed to start? the 3-4 hour rides? in the Base phase or build phase? I've seen some plans where people are only doing an hour max until right before they start racing.

an hour max? maybe during your pre race taper. otherwise you need to be spinning long rides during your base period. small ring, pushing around a 70 inch gear.
the old standard was 1000 miles of mostly high rpm, small gear spinning for a base.
