Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Oooh, teh stealth is teh sexeh!

Finally got a black seatpost in my black bike. I think it looks better. Of course that may be because the old one was an oxidized mess. The bike still looks pretty boring though, but hopefully that'll change once I get some spiffy wheels this spring. I still think the bike would look better with Record Carbon though.

Next ride I'll get to see how badly I fubared eyeballing the seat tilt.

Slap a black crankset on, and you're there.

The saddle looks a tad nose high, from here at least.

The saddle does look a tad nose-up. I use a level to install the saddle.
A nice set of American Classic CR-420 wheels would go well with that seat post.

Funny, his saddle looks perfect to me, besides he's riding it not us.

I use "butt feel" to get the tilt right.

The wheels that will probably be going on it are Mavic Ksyrium SLs, but only if I can still get them in black. Otherwise I'll have to pick something else. I'll keep the CR-420s in mind though.

Why go with the Record crank when you can drop a few more grams and look good too?

Because the Record crank is cheaper if you know how to shop and it looks better.

Tis' the price of admission. While I would prefer an outboard bearing BB like a MegaExo, I can't deny that the square taper design works. And since I'm not such a refined hammer-masher, I can't feel a huge diffference.

I tried to get the "Trek" logo in black with the silver outline. They didn't go for it (though I did get the silver outline).
