Anybody in or around Moab, Utah? (Or anyone from CA going to Skinny Tire Fest?)

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anybody in or around Moab, Utah? (Or anyone from CA going to Skinny Tire Fest?)

Hey everyone, hopefully this isn't too forward of a request but I figure I'll give it a shot...

I am kicking around the idea of doing the Skinny Tire Festival in Moab this year from March 3-6th and am trying to figure out lodging, etc.

Is there
A) anbody on the boards that is planning to do this ride? I would really love to have some company for my time in Utah.
B) anybody in the area that would either like to rent/offer a room to an out of towner, or possibly someone else from out of town who would like to split a motel room in order to bump down the cost of the trip?

I have a free airline ticket that expires in April and it gives me the perfect excuse to do some great riding outside of my normal area if I can just figure out the logistics behind the rest of the trip.

Let me know if anybody wants to join me!

~Mike

I'll be there, I'm staying at the festival host hotel, Moab Valley Inn. This is a great place to stay because the rides all start here, and evening events are in the meeting rooms. The website has a link for reservations. There are also some lower cost options with festival rates as low as $49.
Also check here https://www.kokopellilodge.com/ they will be affordable, and the Rustic Inn at 1-800-231-8184

I'm driving over from Oregon, are you flying into Grand Junction or Salt Lake City?

It's a fun event, last year the weather was great, we can meet up and ride together.

Probably will be flying into SLC I will look into those hotels but would still like to find someone to split costs with as I am slightly unrich this time of year.

My room is full, sorry, several campgrounds in town have those little huts, might search around for those, or a tent spot. See who else chimes in.
