Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Schweet.. Wow, Trek loves you
I wish Litespeed would give me some love..
Or Cervelo since they're in Toronto...

Do you have to leave everything stock?
Or can you customize your cockpit? [Brifters, bar, stem, seat, SP?]

Have fun buddy

Gotta love the 110 carbon. To bad they discontinued these last year. The seat tube cut out was awsome. OCLV is by far the best carbon out there. Have fun.

Actually, yes, it would be. It's VERY comfortable and shock absorbing. It also has exceptionally comfortable geometry (atleast to me) for being a race-like bike.

I just got a set of Modolo Curvissima bars - love the bend. What bars are those? Are they a new Bonty model?

I have the 42cm with the "VR" bend. Extremely comfortable! Plus I like the relatively shallow drop of 135mm.

As for myself, I've got some training to do then maybe I'll be good enough to join a team and race - it seems really cool if you get good at the sport
I personally love racing, but its not for everyone. Yeah Seattle has had some really terrible weather lately, I think its probably the wettest January I've been in since I was born (1990). Keep riding and training hard! And also you know that you can just show up to a crit and race as an unattached rider? You might want to try that before joining a racing team to see if you like it.

We can't customize the main componentry like the cranks, "brifters", brakes, or deraillers. But we can customize the rest to make it more personalized and comfortable, like the stem (has to be bontrager though), the bars, saddle, and seatpost if necessary. I personally like most of the stock componentry so the only thing I changed was the stock bonty saddle to my personal favorite, the San Marco ASPide. I'd go for Cervelo to get some love! Those R3's are kick-ass!

Yeah, actually it's the 120 OCLV. But the only difference is 2-3 ounces between both frames, which isn't a big deal. And these team bikes are 2006 models and have the 2006 component line. But yeah the OCLV is wicked stuff!!

Nice bike. IMO if they are sponsoring you and you don't have to pay any cash for the bike, then they can put whatever they want on the bike. Think of it, if you had a bike without any stickers and someone offered you a few grand to put those stickers on your bike, wouldn't you do it. That doesn't even include the other perks that I am sure you are getting from Trek/VW.

Nice. Don't let classic1 see those headset spacers though. He'll make one of his hilarious jokes.

Yeah, thats my thinking too. And hey it works with or without the stickers doesn't it? And yes "perks" are quite nice in the cycling industry! It's not an inexpensive sport!

Haha, yeah actually I'm taking a few of them out and I'm going to get the steerer cut down a little bit.

Haha, don't worry, I will. My aim is Nationals. But honestly, I wouldn't want a cannondale over a madone. Even if the cannondale was dura-ace and the madone was ultegra. Now if someone gave it to me, I'd sell it and buy a Dura-ace equipped madone
