Thanks, it's a lot nicer than what I had originally anticipated. As I went to bed last night I was thinking to myself, I have to build a beater bike after this one for this will be too nice to park downtown.....

    What have I done?

    Well it's definitely a 27.2 :-)

I agree with you about the Ti thing. Stainless steel does it for me too. I just don't seem to be able to generate any emotion about CF in the same way a nice sculptered piece of metal gets to me. I know it's an inanimate object, but an unpainted metal frame with expert welds and graceful lines is art IMO. CF is just functional. To each his own.

    Congrats on the new frame.

Thanks again, but the outter seat tube measures 35mm in diameter where the front derailleur goes.

Thanks, I agree on the Stainless Steel thing as well, however I'm also a suckker for Carbon fiber, anodized Aluminum, generally anything that is kind of cool, I'm a sucker for

Looking at this Tuscany with wheels on it, it sort of reminds me of a Silver Porsche all business and machine like. I love this bright brushed Ti finish with the Black Aero Wheels.

    WELLLLLLLL ACTUALLLLY

what I have is a 35, not a 32. When I read your post about the seatube I realized that my bike took a 31MM seatpost, and there weas no way the wall thickness was 1/2 mm. So I went and looked and lo and behold...

    35mm...

its a little dirty, I havent cleaned it up yet, but its very very mint.

let me know if youre interested, I need to get myself a new braze on...

It's not a roadbike I know, but I had this Pisgah up until about two months ago. Fantastic bike, and man did it look fine decked out in black and carbon. I put the Rasta headset on it just for the last little touch...

    Thanks, I appreciate it

BTW, I happen to have a Shimano 600 braze on Front Derailleur, new in box you can have for FREE, if you really need one

I suspect you don't need one that bad

Thanks for the offer, but I TOO have a 105 braze on derailleur, and I MAY stoop to that level if I cant sort thisout sooner. I have three potential cranks going on this bike, just get her rollin, I have of course my Record Crankset, I have an FSA Carbon, and another FSA Carbon Compact. The compact is on my cross bike, so I likely wont take it off, but I dont have an ENglish bottom bracket for wither of the other two. Ultimately I plan to have a Record Compact setup on this bike, so I'll prolly put the standard Record crank on it, with the cheapest FDRLR I can find til I get the Record CT stuff.

I think perhaps I overthink things sometimes...

Since I've somewhat hijacked this thread anyway, let me take a moment to show off my "carbon Fiber Wunderbike" that has resulted in all these spare parts and new needs. I like the paint scheme but its too bad you cant order the "Bayonne" scheme in all black and white.

She still has her "hand me down" yellow shoes on, and an uncut steerer but were getting there. Those are actually my rough wheel set, bad weather whatever you want to call it. The Eurus are on the Pinny til I get this bike built up just right, then she'll wear those with GP4000's. (In black of course...)

The whole bike in my office (please excuse the stacks of papers, its Tax Time...)

    Love the lug work...

BB Bracket...(of course everything I have is Italian except this)

    Record of course...

Nice, I like the R2.5 Cervelo Frames, and I too have often though if I bought one, I would like to tone down the decals a bit, and show off more of that sweet carbon fiber.

Before the Tuscany, I was close to buying a Colnago E1. Then this frame came and distracted my attention for the time being. I have always wanted a Ti bike as well, so I could not let this pass me by.

This is the Record Crank set and BB I picked up. I have been looking for this set forever, as I like the pattern of it more than the newer Record's "Marble" finish.

I was a bit dissapointed that Campagnolo is still using a Square Taper Axle, How 1920's is that?

It could be the light but is your clear coat coming loose around your bottom bracket??

hehe As soon as I saw the picture, I knew someone would say that. Actually thats nano wax. Eagle one.

I waxed the bike, but I had dry fit the BB and crankset so I didnt get it all offf in that area. Its on the lug work for the seatube and top tube cluster as well.

Yo Viper - nice looking frame and with the full Record and the Rolfs, it will be awesome.

Got me thinking - who's influencing whom now? (Tete has full Record and Rolf Vigors)

BTW - I don't know the weight limits on the Vigors but I can attest to the fact that they are very durable. I have the standards and while I haven't ridden them all that much, I've had no issues. I did meet up with a hammerhead last weekend who had a well used set. He looked about 180 pounds and claimed he had over 10K miles on the standards without ever truing them.

    Hey Thanks Rad!

I didn't know the Tete was to be all Record, however I was inspired by your Maillot Jaune Rebuild. After seeing that I said, I love the look of a traditional tubed Diamond frame bike, and that I should build one instead of the newer sloping I was planning. I was also wanting to build a Classic, so I though why not sort of get it all?

I have wanted a Titanium bike since forever, so when I seen the Tuscany, I knew it was the one and I had to snap it up. Everything I have read about it, is aimed at what I really needed in my next bike. I like the classic lines of it, however it has todays panache, if you will. I wanted it grounded with the newest technology, as such it will be a Neuvo Speedster. At least it will be a place to hang parts for a while

I didn't go with the Rolfs. I ended up getting a set of Campagnolo Eurus instead. They were brand new 2005s that I got for a very good deal, the person even threw in a set of tires and tubes as well.

I love the look of these wheels and they get very good reviews. Additionally I wanted to build with as much Campagnolo parts just because.... Strange I know, but I felt I would Migrate all the stuff to a Colnago some day and have that fully equipped, all Italian bike, I have also always wanted

I got some new parts today and I'll set about taking some Pictures ASAP.

    Thanks Blandin

Here are some of the parts I got today.

The Complete Groupo is not all here, I have a Front, Rear Derailleur and Titanium Cog set coming.

The Crankset is more beautiful than I know how to capture with my set-up.

Here is my first gut reaction to the components thus far. The crank is absolutely gorgeous! I was searching for this particular model for a while, for I wanted a more consistent look with the rest of the carbon parts. The Bottom bracket, is nicely build and is a triple bearing design. I'm still surprised with the Square taper BB axle and crank set, however I suppose this is the Old World way....

The shifters, while nice, sort of left me a bit disappointed. The inner shift lever is actually made of plastic with a piece of Carbon Fiber stuck to it. This left me thinking WTF??? This is Campagnolo's top line Premium gruppo and they use a plastic lever?? Slightly disappointed! This should have been Carbon or Aluminum, even for the weight penalty Now I don't want to incite a flame war here, but I have to say, as nice and light as the Record levers are, they really seem to lack the Jewel like finish and surgical instrument feel like Shimano's Dura Ace. In fact, based on first impressions, the Dura Ace feel of much better quality and precision. I guess time will tell once I get them on in actual working conditions. Over all I think Shimano Components are finished and built better.

Here is a close up of the Cheapo lever

Interesting comment on the fit and finish of the Campy components, but as you say until they're mounted and used, looks don't tell the whole story. Should be a stunning bike and I think one worthy of it's own thread!

I just installed the bottom bracket, however I forgot to get a Campy BB tool Guess I'll stop at the LBS on the way home from work tomorrow.
