Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The Topo's aren't mine but a buddy pick some up this last year. They are c19's I like how they felt in the straight and on climbs.

These are going to be for his new Rodie getting built up as I type. I hope it gets done soon so I can get my second bike back.

Sweet bike - the CR1 is one of my favorites. I've cosidered if I ever get around to trying a carbon fiber bike I'd like to get a CR1 Team Issue.

Are those Topolino spokes the same ones they use on Lightweights?

Not that familiar with Lightweights. I think they both use composite material spokes, but I think the Topo's are unique in that their spokes span the full diameter of the wheel instead of stopping at the hub. I'm guessing though 'cause I haven't really checked out the Lightweights....

Wow! Great to see some feedback on the AC29s. I've been researching the Topo's for about 4 months and came across some info on the AC29 a while back but they were so new at the time that the only info I could get was from one of the sales guys at Topolino Tech. I must say, they look awesome on your bike! I am likely going to get the same model for my bike; an 04' Giant TCR Composite that is gloss black with yellow and silver accents. A pair of Pro Race 2 with the gray stripe would look great with the Topos. Thanks for posting the pics and for the info....they're the first I've seen on the net with the new model. Enjoy your ride!

A quick question.....I am probably going to upgrade my SRAM PG970 cassette with a Dura Ace 12-25 and a new Dura Ace chain when I get the wheels. Does anyone know if I'll have a compatability problem with my other Ultegra components (crankset, derailuers, etc.) or is not an issue? I'm guessing it won't be, but I've never mixed the two so I just want to make sure before I drop the coin.

No issue whatsoever mixing DA 9 speed and Ultegra 9 speed, with the exception of some double/triple issues. Your cassette and chain upgrade is perfectly fine.

Thanks! I've got a few more miles on them now. One thing I noticed and love is they really gloss over the buzz of chip seal roads, which we have tons of around here.

BTW - The SRAM 970 is a great cassette and IMO the DA9 isn't that big of an upgrade, esp. for the cost. I think the SRAM is lighter than the Ultegra and almost as light as the Dura Ace.
