Beautiful weather for February!!
Anyone else experiencing unseasonably warm and lovely temperatures for the middle of February?
Today was an absolutely gorgeous day!! It got to +10C/50F, the sun was shining, and there wasn't much wind ...... I kept wondering when something like a nasty arctic storm was going to move in, and make the day more ... normal. But it just kept getting better and better!! I explored roads I haven't ridden before. I took photos. I talked to llamas, cows, and horses. I rode with bare hands - no gloves!! I haven't had such a good, fun ride in probably 5 months. And I covered 165.6 kms (102.9 miles). That's my February century done!!
However, rumor has it, it is supposed to start snowing tonight and keep snowing for a few days, then get very cold ... if that's true, I am really glad I rode today!

We had 2 feet of snow in eastern CT today - no opportunity for a century ride here for awhile. You're lucky !

We've had a great winter here in Northeastern California, too. I rode today in shorts at 4000 ft. I think it was almost 60 degrees. Rain and snow by the weekend, I'm told.

It has been so amazingly great in my stretch of Northern California, that I completed two metric 100's and, including Friday after work, a total of 178 miles.
This wouldn't be more than a yawn for some of you, but, for me, it is fricken unbelievable. Since returning to cycling last Spring, this is the first weekend where I truly felt like a cyclist!!!
No way, Team Discovery is gonna overlook me now.

Too warm in San Diego. Need rain, but it has been good for the riding.
Had a great ride on the coast today. The only thing detracting was the incredible surf... hard to choose what to do in a day.

It was in the mid 70s for a few days, here in the San Francisco Peninsula. Short sleeves and nothing covering the knees. Nice.
The roads were lousy with riders today. I did a 50-mile, 4600' ride and had at least one rider in view virtually the whole time (not the same rider). More cyclists than cars, by a long shot.

10*C today, and 13*C tomorrow! Tomorrow will be a coastal metric century and if the weather gives me a couple more days, I might do another on Friday.

When I went out at 10 AM yesterday it was 39 F with winds out of the west at 18 mph gusting to 26 mph. Wool leg warmers and jersey, wind shell, full-fingered gloves, and booties kind of days are kind of rare here in Florida. Brrr!
