I'm going insane - frame help, please!
You know the feeling.....you're dropping a ton of dough on a new bike. Yes, it's about the motor. Yes, there's only a slight difference in feel between what you're deciding between. But, I've worked hard for this money that I'm about to hand over. I've been killing myself over the frame. Everything else is pretty set. I'm in need of a light (everything's light these days, but I want the lightest) frame. I'm willing to spend up to $2500 if it's worth it. I've looked at a couple of Looks (particularly the 565), I've looked at the BMC Team Machine (I love the Easton EC90 SLX fork), looked at the Cervelos (R3 and Soloist Team), and I just cannot make up my mind. I'm open for anything, anything at all. Someone, please help me clear my head. In advance, I thank you dearly for calming the demons in my mind.

Pick up a 2006 Ghisallo if the geometry works for you. Depending on the size it's only about 900grams and it's Titanium so it will last a lifetime. You could pick up a Scott CR1 and come in about 50 grams less again depending on the size. Those are about the lightest frames out there. Pair either with a Easton SLX or comparably light (or ligher) fork and you're on your way to WeightWeenie heaven. I'm not solely focused on weight. I don't want to sacrifice quality or stiffness for weight. I am in fact looking at a Soloist. Thanks for the reply, and does anyone else have any other suggestions?

I have a lot of nice bikes, so I speak from some experience.
Once you have the material you like (Ti, Alu or CF if lightness is a consideration), and it sounds like CF is the pick, and you are comfortable the geometry fits your needs, GO WITH THE ONE THAT SPEAKS TO YOU!!!!!
That can be as simple as the paint scheme.
Every one of those bikes you mentioned should be light, well made, well designed and within a couple of ounces of each other. It simply does not matter which one you get - each will be world class, light and efficient. You can soften up a stiff ride with wheels and tires if you wish. But if you don't look at the bike and think how you can't wait to get on it, you picked the wrong frame. Know yourself, go with your gut, understand that next year other frames will be tempting (and in CF land innovation comes thick and fast - PARTICULARLY when it comes to weight) but that you are making hay while the sun shines. Simple as that.
In five years the bikes will be different, your bank account will be different, your engine will be different, and you will have more choices to make. This is not a quiz with a right and wrong answer, this is about carpe diem.

Go for the BMC! Do you know anyone who has one? I sure don't. Be the first. They look pretty damn awesome, and I have hear that they ride even better.
If you don't dig the BMC, I would get the Cervelo for sure, and forget the Look. But that is just my humble and "I haven't been out on any of them" opinion.

If you want the best for YOU and money isn't a paticular problem then there's only ONE thing for it. Find a custom builder and have it built for you. I've just had a custom frame built for me and its the "Bee's Knee's". I'm not familiar with all the American custom builders though but there's been plenty of threads about them on this forum. With custom building you know it will be right for you and it will be unique.
