buying tights
Recently i took part in a charity ride and did iton a road bike and i really liked it! And have slightly started. I have had no problem with cycling jerseys. That was easy but i have had problems with tights. How do I buy tights? How do i getthe corrects size and stuff? Please help! I have no idea what i'm doing.

cash, credit cards, personal checks...
seriously. what's so difficult? what size shorts do you wear? if you're a medium, buy mediums, if you're a large, buy larges. if you buy from pearl izumi, then keep in mind that their mediums are larges, and their larges XL's etc.
if you need an example - i'm 5'9", wear levis 501s in 32x32 (they fit a tad loose and long) and wear medium assos bib tights and small pearl izumi bib tights.
enjoy

If by tights, you mean the spandex shorts, most will have the size (in inches) on the tag. If you're a 33 inch waist, you'll probably fit a medium. Most bike shops will let you try them on (with underwear) before you buy. Not too tight to cut off circulation, but not flapping around, with enough room for your 'package'. #1 is that they should be comfortable.
For chamois (the pad on the inside), there's really a lot of choices and you should look at thickness, whether gel or not, synthetic or natural fibres, etc. You can sit on a few bikes in the shop or bring your own bike and see if they're comfortable.
I'd suggest NOT buying the lowest price ones, but maybe 2 steps up to find some decent quality in chamois and stitching.

botto is right. The only problems are when ordering Euro sizes which you order one size larger which has been my experience. Good luck.
