Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cool Campy lore

today, in anticipation of my new zonda wheelset due to be delievered tomorrow, i stopped by my lbs to get a campy lockring tool. i took a sec to ask the mechanic about how well campy hubs are usually adjusted from the factory and whether they repack them as a matter of course. one of the guys, a long time cyclist and racer, told me that at least until a couple years ago the same old guy in the campy factory had been personally responsible for adjusting every record hub which left the place for over 30 years.
one more reason to love campy.

Regardless of how they were adjusted, you can bet he shed a tear and poured his heart and soul in to packing each and everyone of those hubs, thats the Italian way

It must be a contagious sickness. Until a few days ago I'd never held a Campy part in my hand. Damn, but my new Centaur "Century gray" cranks have me swooning.
