Are these shorts too posuer?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Are these shorts too posuer?

I can get 'em at a terrific price, in my size, and they might even be my style.

What do you think?

There's a reason why most shorts are black.

You're find that their... camouflage is better.

They're not considered poseur. They're considered fugly. And you can see a great deal through them.

I have a pair of navy blue bib shorts I bought because I thought they looked cool and they would look sweet with my jersey but the first time I rode with them I found out that when you sweat you get a large dark area around your groin that looks like you peed yourself. It is like this the entire ride...

Never again will I buy anything but black.

You can wear those but you'll have to hand out plastic sporks so folks can carve their eyeballs out at the end of group rides.

We had to bar a guy from a store I worked at because he would always come in wearing white spandex shorts every time he came in. It was so gross, customers kept complaining. So it was time to give him the boot.

Thanks for the warning! A team I had joined last year had navy blue shorts, and I never gave that a thought. Perhaps it was a blessing that the chamois was so uncomfortable that I couldn't wear the shorts for much more than an hour at a time. I agree though... black is definitely the way to go for shorts.

Thankthelordinheavenabove that I saw this post. I just bought some blue bibs for some reason. Good price and I wanted something different. I will return them tomorrow; which is a great excuse to go to the LBS.

What was I thinking?
