Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If any of those speeds were true we'd have heard of him by now and 70% of us would already own that amazingly fast bike.

It was listed once before by the same person and here is the link:

Super Fast Bike - Auction #1

It seems he ended it early because it was no longer for sale. My favorite line "This is the last time i'll offer this bike again."

I don't even know where to begin but I am going to get in on asking questions. I've got time.

I Sent him this email about 15 times....

"Wow really? you're fast... Actually... where do you get off lying to your customers? Firstly, you list the bike's frame material as being carbon fiber though it is not, you do make the change further along in the description but the frame is still listed in the carbon fiber frame category when searched for. Secondly this bike is not rare at all, I am sure that there have been many thousands made. My bike shop sold roughly 30 of them alone that season. Thirdly, in the description you say that the rear derailleur is Shimano Ultegra which it is not, the bike actually comes with a Shimano Deore rear derailleur and unless you are planning on replacing it I suggest you change the item description. Also, this bike is worth nowhere near $6,500 and wherever or whoever you got that price quoted from is lying to you. They sold at our shop for $1000 CAD... Please change the item description to correct information or remove the item from eBay."

hahaa, I dunno though, I sorta want to meet ths guy, I think he rode the short bus to school.

guys, guys, guys... the rear fender is used to ensure that the bike maintains traction at his high speeds. think of it more like a spoiler.

i believe him. i routinely hit speeds of 40-60mph up hills. (40mph is only on recovery days though).

He lists a bike shop thats done his bi-weekly tuneup for the last 2 years.

"All work that was done on this bike was at www.spinbikeshop.com Lakewood, Ohio 216.521.spin ask for brian ( Owner )"

Anyone close to there ? phone em ask if they were the ones who sold it to the seller for $6500.

i dout he would reach any of those speeds, even if he held on to a bumper of a car going up that hill, then off the side and over a cliff at that top to get that speed going down

Watch the Q&A growing, it's too funny.

I have asked him how long he thinks it would take me to ride back to Massachusetts if I was doing a local pick-up. Waiting for the reply.

oh...oh....oh!!! I did a domain search on his bi-weekly mechanic LBS

Jackson-Taylor Incorporated
Bryan Jackson
4431 Oliver Lane
Douglasville, GA 30135
US
+1.6782300867

Seems his LBS is in Georgia! Seller must have become as fast as he claims by making all those long distance trips to GA.

Oh, and Jackson-Taylor Incorporated https://www.jackson-taylor.com/is a developer of a website https://www.militarypals.com/

Man I have not laughed this hard in quite a while

Funny!!!! Good one! At his speeds you could make it, riding straight through of course, in about 1.5 days.

"if i was Lance Armstrong you wouldnt doubt what i say"

I totally believe LA could throw it in the big ring and do 70 on a flat.

Here's mine:

"I'm interested in your bike but I have questions. 1) Can fix the typo where you say it's worth $6500 before I bid. I've shopped for bikes and there's nothing about yours that would make it worth $6.5k 2) can you verify that it's not just some low end aluminum frame. I can see photos of it and it's clearly not carbon fiber. Are only the forks carbon fiber? I'm just checking and covering my ass. Is there some way you can verify that this is a limited edition bike. You told someone to check as you have. I've tried to find that info and it seems to be some claim with no proof. Could you post a link maybe that has some info on only 50 even being made? Did they only make 50 because it's a bad bike? You seem to be proud of being twice as fast at the fastest cyclist on record, can you back up such a claim so I can see about getting you some sponsors and a decent bike? I'm sure people think you are crazy; you've been on ebay for only couple of weeks. It's going to take effort to sound legit."

I quoted someone else on this thread about being twice as fast as the fastest cyclist so I don't know if it's actually true. I hope he doesn't check. I felt like pretending I was interested in the bike. It's up to $800+.

Someone should say he/she has limited editions number 1,2,3, and 5. #4 would really finish off the collection.

I think he left out the parts when he trained naked in winter in snow on his bike, rode his bike
on beaches hauling heavy barrels, rode his bike up thousands of stairs to the top like Rocky,
also stood under a waterfall with his bike just to get pounded by the freezing water like those
Koreans fighters in Best of the Best...

hahaha
