Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Problem with Gipiemme Grecal Parades

I have started getting flats from my tubes extending down thru a deformed rim strip in to the hole that
is on the opposite side from the spoke. Any recommendation on rim strips to fix this. And no, changing wheels is not an option this year

Get some new rim strips. I recommend Velox cloth rim tape.

Yea Velox, or similar cloth or the new snap in rim strips from Ritchey or Specialized are much better than the stock rubber deals. Or if you want to go weight weenie go for the Velo plugs.

https://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCEqP...jsp?spid=14931

https://velocityusa.com/accessories.php

But just about every bike shop on the planet should have Velox in stock.

First thing I do when I get a bike or set of wheels with those rubber strips is to get rid of them in favor of something I know isn't going to move around.
