I have a 95ish AX I've put 7700 on and converted to threadless (with bonus grammo and homemade brass headset spacers- I should really swap those out for something lighter).



e: mine's a little too small for me, yours looks too big for you, perhaps there's a trade potential? (I know the AX is a lower model than the EX)

wonderful! That's the kind of gaudy colouring i like on a bike. what is that bar tape. it is much brighter than the yellow i've got on mine. did you have to get those wheel cusom built?

That is Fizik's 2 mm Superlight microtex tape. Hardly any padding. If you need more, try their 3 mm Performance type. I build my own wheels so I just took these apart and sent the rims for powder coating since yellow anodizing is hard to find. Then I just reassembled them. The reasonably priced powder coater was Ed Steidle in Orlando, FL. $30 each plus shipping. Included the brake track masking.

I like yours too. Just wanted to emphasize the one color.

mine will be more yellow when i eventually replace the tyres for yellow. i have them in stock already but the red is lasting way too long.

So many beautiful bikes here. My OCD tendencies told me to brake the pattern and post my rattle-canned commuter, shown here dressed up with bags and all:



It's a Backroad Tourer hidden behind all the paint, so I qualify, at least on paper I've opted for a personal and easily recognizable look with no logos or brands showing anywhere. It isn't supposed to be gorgeous and theft prone. Feel free to kick it.

Since you miraculously recovered your beloved Machak from the thief, how do you decide which to ride?

I also have a Thorn in the mix (and more in storage).

Right now Machak needs a little bit of work, so he's resting. Most of the time I ride the Thorn because it is a really comfy bicycle over longer distances. And if my ride is going to involve a lot of hill climbing, the HASA (titanium) is the one for the job. It's a really good climber.

I know this is going to sound really strange to some (especially looking at those photos), but I actually need to raise the handlebars on the HASA for it to be comfortable for longer distances. I have a health issue that requires quite an upright position.

How is the ride comparison with a Titanium fork vs Carbon fork? Just curious.

If you're asking me, I don't have a titanium fork. It's a steel fork.

Yes I saw that, it was just a general question. You can see the steel lugs in your pics and that thin tubing with curve at the wheel clincher very characteristic of steel fork. Hard to mistake for anything other than steel, at least to me.

Yeah it's nice to see that Chinese bike manufacturers are often not huge factories and are hand-made. Only a 1000 bikes from them. My bike Flyxii, believe they only produce 5000 bikes a year.

I like seeing the combination of hand tools being used alongside the sophisticated machines. And the workers aren't rushing, they are being careful and checking over their work.
