Does it matter where the tires are made from?
Heloo peep,
I got a set of Continental tires on my bike. It's written 'made in Indonesia'. Originally it's 'supposed' to be made in Germany where it originated. So my question is, is it normal to have tires made in other countries(especially industrial type), and still have the same quality? I mean it's not pirated or imitated right?
Thanks.

On the Continental web site, some tires are listed as "handmade in Germany" (in capital letters!) but other tires don't have that notation. The obvious inference is....

If you bought the tire through Continental's retail distribution system, then you can be assured that their technical specifications and manufacturing processes were followed. Otherwise it is no better than the Rolex Oyster watch you bought for $10 from the nice guy with the suitcase of watches on 42 street.
