Disappointing News
Yesterday I got my first road bike, a used Domino Plus Red.(https://www.fondriest.com.au/products..._plus_red.asp), it rained where I live and was unable to ride. Today it was nice enough to ride so I was able to go out and get in around 20ish km before it looked like it was going to rain. When I got home after eating I was disappointed to find that my rear tire was rubbing on the right brake pad in one section of the tire. I have two questions, 1. What a possible reason for this would be?(because I was careful not to ride over any large bumps.) 2. If I attempt to "true" the tire is there a chance that I will cause more damage to the wheel.
Other than this news I was very happy with the bike and impressed with the responsiveness when I jammed the pedals down to climb or sprint.
One very excited young cyclist, 19 years old, ready for my first real riding season.
Thanks,

Why is your break pad touching your tire in the first place? Is rim touching the break pad? I would first adjust my break pads. If your rim is tweaked, take to your LBS, and have it looked at it. They should have you back on the road in no time.

Yes, the rim is touching the break pad. I thought of adjusting the brake pads but I fear if I ride on my wheel when it's not "true" I’ll do more damage, and it'll end up costing me more money
Thanks for the help

I would defiantly take to LBS to have the rim looked at. If the rim was assembled and tensioned correctly it should not hert to ride it, however if there is a problem with your rim such as spoke tension, or a broken spoke you can total the rim. Once again you should take it in and have it trued by your LBS!

Thanks everyone, I've decided to not ride until the rim has been trued by the pros.
Thanks again for the input.

To Botto: No, I'm not made of sugar but considering this was my first time on a road bike ever, and I didn't use clipless pedals on my Mountain Bike i decided that I could wait another day rather than getting my self injured of worse the bike.
